Access to Justice = Equal Protections

We believe that restricted access to justice for those at low and middle incomes constitutes a slow burning, human rights crisis inside the United States. U.S. federal and state governments must expand the provision of free civil legal services, people centered justice initiatives, and pro se resources, to combat the wealth gap, and racial divide that prevents so many from realizing what should otherwise be a materially attainable standard of living.

By applying international human right standards and recommendations to domestic frameworks, the AAICJ is crafting cutting-edge legal and policy arguments, exposing how the failure to provide increased resources to help disenfranchised individuals and groups address their justice needs may breach Constitutional guarantees of equal rights and due process.
